(More customer reviews)The first time I received a damaged and non working product. The battery charger did not work and the stand for the camera did not hold up the camera. I bought this kit from Butterfly Photo because I bought the Fuji film camera about 2-3 months earlier. When putting the Fuji film camera on the stand it snapped and fell over! However, after one quick email to butterfly photo explaining what a dud this was they took care of it immediately. In about 5 days I received new batteries and new charger and a new stand! All of which worked perfectly. They told me just to throw away the broken stuff so i did not have to worry about shipping the broken stuff back. The really wanted to make sure I got a working product. They were great! Also the tripod is really cool. It doesn't need to be tall be cause it wraps around anything! Lamps, tables etc etc!

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this camera after a few months of researching point and shoot digitals. I bought a Sony P&S in Dec. '09 for almost $200.00 but it was limited to 3x Optical Zoom so I returned it. I decided to wait until I could afford an entry level DSLR so I would have more control over all the setting and focusing features but I was in a Radio Shack one day when I saw the S1500 and I really liked it. I went online to check out camera reviews and they were very positive so I went to Amazon to check out prices. That's when I found the S1800. I bought it because it has more Optical Zoom and it basically the same price.
I have been very pleased with the photos it takes. The only drawback I found is the time it takes to auto focus and it was slightly smaller than I thought. The size isn't really a factor for most people but I have large hands and slight nerve damage in my neck that causes my hands to shake. The anti-shaking features work very well but it does take longer for me to focus at high zooms because of the shaking.
I would recommend this camera very much for anyone who wants to take the next step in digital photography and can't afford a DSLR.
ALSO the bundled package was a fantastic value. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Synergy Digital-Quick Charger with Four Ultra High Power 2800 MaH AA Batteries
After placing the batteries into the charger and plugging it in, It became apparent that the word 'quick' in Quick Charger was figurative. The batteries that came with the charger took over 8 hours to charge...that led to the discovery of another feature flaw: the two color LED charge indicator. Other chargers have an indicator that changes abruptly: Red for charging, Green for charged. Some even blink the lights rapidly if the charger detects something wrong with a battery. Not so with this charger. On this charger, the LED changes GRADUALLY from red to green. And because the cheap LED has to light emitters in the same bulb, what color you can see depends on what angle you are viewing the charger from. So you have to wait until the entire LED is green to tell that the batteries are fully charged, and when I charged a second set of the same batteries (Brand, size and mAh rating were identical to the ones that came with the charger) it took nearly 12 hours.
All in all, the charger DOES work, The batteries DO last a LONG TIME (my Fuji Finepix S1500 takes four batteries, and I shot for 3 days on one set) But the charger is ANYTHING BUT quick. It should be labeled an overnight charger, because it certainly takes that long.
Buy if you want long lasting batteries, but don't expect to charge the batteries and then go on a photo shoot the same day. Charge the day before.
