This is a very decent 18650 secondary cell (not a battery) with the Ultrafire brand. Not sure if the 3000mAh claim is true, but I can vouch for the fact that it lasts a bit longer than other cells I own (a few Trustfires, a few Ultrafires and a few Tenergys, rated between 2400mAh and 2600mAh).
The button top feature means that they will work well in spring-less flashlights (no need for a magnet-button).
The protected feature means they have a chip on board that protects it from over-charge and under-discharge. If over-charged (over 4.2V in layman's terms) the cell overheats and may explode (it's called "thermal runaway"). The explosion itself is a chemical rupture-explosion, a very nasty thing. If under-discharged (used under load until it drops under 2.75V, in laymen's terms), a chemical reaction makes the cell unstable, dangerous and unusable. The chip onboard should protect against this. If you are running a flashlight until it gets dim and hits the low treshhold, the cell shuts down - you should throw it away. I never run my cells below 3V, and my charger takes care not to charge more than 4.2V.
Never leave the charger unattended overnight. Put the charger in an area where a potential explosion does the least damage (a fireplace, if you have one, is great). When the little light on the charger turns green, take it out. Get a voltmeter and measure. Under no load, the voltage should be 4.0-4.2V. The nominal voltage is 3.7V, that's what should read when the cell is under load. Let is sit 20-30 mins after a fresh charge and before using it - this cools it and "settles" the chemistry inside.
Your charger should also protect against overcharging. Naturally (duh...), you must use a charger made for charging 18650 cells. This cell will not even fit in a Wallmart/Kmart/Target found charger. This cells are not available in retail. Their size is different from AA, AAA, C, D, etc... And yes, you would charge a Li-Ion cell with a... Li-Ion charger.
As far as compatible chargers, just type 18650 in the Amazon search and go down the list. The DSD charger is very popular and praised for it's simplicity, you also can't go wrong with Tenergy products, it's a US company with a lot of pride in quality control. Personally, I use a Pila charger and I have several DSD ones.
Amazon did not do anything wrong here, description is fine and all specs are accurate, so please disregard the previous rant against Amazon (and not related to the product).
This cell is great. If you know what a 18650 is for and what it does, then buy this with confidence. If you don't know what this is, please step away from this page, this is not for you and you might get hurt - chemical fire is very nasty.
I use these cells primarily in hi-power Cree led flashlights. If you want to build a pack (for example, in robotic applications), you're probably better off going with unprotected button-less. After you solder your pack together (careful not to overheat - heat is another Li-Ion fire starter) you should attach a custom made protection circuit to the entire pack. The protection circuit is a must-do requirement!
Most importantly - use common sense. If you don't have one, do not buy/use these cells.
Price is a bit steep, but if you want crazy life-on-the-edge performance, and more importantly, you know what you're doing, then this cell is for you.

Protected 18650 3000mAh rechargeable 3.6 volt battery - charge with the Ultrafire Multi-Battery charger. The advantage of this cell is that it features a button top making it particularly compatible with many flashlight applications. Rechargeable Lithium batteries are rapidly becoming a very economical way to lower the operating costs of Lithium-Powered flashlights. We offer a number of different options in order to meet any rechargeable needs. These are Protected batteries. These fully protected cells simplify usage with their integrated PCB. Perfect for your single cell application these cells are not for pack building as doing so will defeat the PCB protection which is matched to the correct voltage on a single cell. If you are building a pack please choose one of our other cells and the appropriate PCB.

I only plugged it in and tried it with my 17" HP Pavilion DV7 for long enough to see that it does power the laptop and charge the battery, and the plug fits securely into the socket on the laptop (which is more than I can say for the original HP cord).
My only complaint is that the cord is only about 6 feet, which sounds like a lot, but it isn't enough to stretch comfortably from the lighter adapter in the dash to a passenger in the back seat, for example (if it could go right through the seat, maybe, but it has to go over the seats or between or around them in most cars). If you have a 12-volt outlet very close to your seat, or you just want to use it to charge the battery, it should work fine. I bought mine to use with the 12-volt system in an RV, but the cord isn't long enough to reach from any of the 12-volt outlets to any of the tables or seating areas.
It would be nice if it had a 90-degree plug, too. Having a couple of inches of plug sticking out the side of the laptop, especially in a confined space, is just asking to get it broken. HP cords are made the same way though, and their plugs are even a little longer, so it's more a wishful thought than a complaint.

Digital Concepts 4 Pack 2500Mah AA Rechargeable Batteries Review

Digital Concepts 4 Pack 2500Mah AA Rechargeable Batteries

We bought about 8 or 12 of these AA batteries marked DIGITAL. They will charge and show 1.25v on a volt meter but they have no LOAD capacity. We tried running them in a remote control truck and they would not move the tires. When the load hit the batteries they failed to push the truck. I have been throwing these away. Right now I've got 2 in front of me and they are headed to the trash can. We can charge them for 2 days and they still have no load capacity.

My first thought when I saw this item was that it was PRICEY! It's smaller than your hand and still cost almost 30 dollars. However, now that I have received it and used it, I am eating my words. It is VERY strong and VERY stable. I cant imagine this breaking under any circumstances. The variety of angles you can get with this is impressive. I have a samsung smx-c14 with the tilted lense and it works great with the superclamp. It is obviously a quality product that is well designed, compact, and efficient.
I would recommend this to anyone that likes to experiment with camera angles and mounting positions. You can use it to put your camera in places and positions previously unreachable. I look forward to using it surveillance camera style. Buy one, you won't regret it.

Now you can get those pictures or videos with artistic angles, mounts to almost anything and everything. Your Imagination is the Limit!

This compact clamp is made in the USA, VERY well built, small enough to fit in you pocket.

It allows a camera or camcorder that has a tripod mount, to be solidly attached to a table, car window, handlebar, skateboard, hand glider, tree branch, park bench, shopping cart, so on and so forth (you get the idea), using a standard 1/4"-20 threaded quick connect screw, just like any camera tripod. Strong enough for most cameras or camcorders, it attaches to either round or flat objects from 0" to 1.5" thick, with rubber on both sides of the clamp, it will not scratch or slip. It utilizes a ball and socket mount to allow the camera maximum flexibility in framing the subject.

Canon BG-E5 Battery Grip for Canon XSi Digital SLR Cameras (Retail Package) Review

Canon BG-E5 Battery Grip for Canon XSi Digital SLR Cameras (Retail Package)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ostensibly, the goal of a battery grip is to extend the amount of power you have for your camera. This grip does that, but simply buying an additional battery pack (which you'll have to do anyway if you want to use the grip that way) would do the same job, wouldn't it? It would - but the grip does a whole lot more:
This battery grip transforms an already excellent camera (the Canon 450D -- or Rebel XSi as it is called in the US) into a great one. First of all, the grip is excellently designed, and people with medium to large hands like me can get a much better handle on the camera which, although nicely shaped, was a bit to small for my liking. Now, with the grip, this is transformed into a natural fit (it now feels similar to the Nikon D70, which I thought to be more comfortable to hold than the 450D). The advantages of using this grip are many:
First of all, you have double the amount of battery power available (provided, of course, you purchase an additional battery pack. The package does not contain any batteries). The grip is designed to hold one or two of the 450D's battery packs at the same time. You do not have to use two packs. If you do, the packs do not have to carry the same amount of charge, and both packs are drained simultaneously. Even better, Canon has designed the grip to house a sled-like device they call 'magazine'. This magazine holds one or two battery packs. The nice thing, however, is that it comes with a second magazine designed to hold 6 AA batteries. In a pinch, this can bridge the gap until you can re-charge the packs. Also, you can replace the magazine with an adapter to connect your camera to a normal power outlet (this is not included in the package). The magazine slides in from the left side (as seen from the camera's back), making exchanging the magazines slightly awkward for right-handed people.
The grip is designed to slide into your camera from below, replacing the battery pack (you'll have to remove the battery cover for this), and is secured in place with a screw. If there is room for improvement, then it would be here: I'd have liked a rubber environmental seal to better protect the camera's now permanently open battery housing.
The grip almost doubles the weight of the camera, making it much better balanced with many of the larger lenses (e.g. the EF 100 Macro lens). Even better, when shooting in portrait orientaton, the grip provides its own shutter, aperture, AF lock and AF select buttons as well as another selector dial. To prevent accidental use of these buttons, the grip is also equipped with an ON/OFF switch (this switch will not operate the battery power). This is in addition to the large, separately molded grip now provided for this orientation. The bottom also houses a replicated tripod socket, and a mount for the handstrap. The latter is very useful, as I have found myself shooting more in portrait orientation, and have now set up the camera to use this as the default orientation.
The few small flaws I've found are this: I would have liked the ability of the grip to be able to also provide power to my (external) flash. Even more than that I would have welcomed a charger for the whole grip. Currently, you have to remove the battery packs from the magazine, charge them separately, and then re-insert them into the magazine, then insert the magazine into the grip. Also, you have to remove the camera's battery cover from the camera -- this forces you to carry the cover with you seperately should you want to use the camera without the grip. Finally, I would have preferred a slightly better environmental sealing than the rudimentary one that is provided. All things considered, though, these are small annoyances compared to the much better handling and feel the grip brings to the camera. To sum up:
This grip truly incrases the 450D's already great features. I like the fact that I can choose to use one or two packs, and even swap them for AA batteries in a pinch. The whole assembly feels much improved, and shooting in portrait orientation has been immensely enhanced (both in feel and simplicity). I recommend this grip for anyone who wants to get more out of this camera, and especially for those who find themselves shooting often in portrait orientation.
