We own another Kodak point and shoot with only 3m zoom and it has been a fantastic camera. We wanted an additional camera to help with distance, action and close up shots. We read hundreds of reviews on different camera's and came back to this one. We purchased it as a part of the kit with all the other gadgets and it was a great purchase. The camera is great, easy to use, helps explain how to use the different settings right on the screen. We've played with this a lot in the past few days and are very pleased with the results. We have no negatives to report on the camera or the kit. In the kit you actually get two tripods. One is a flexible tripod that will wrap around posts etc. This tripod doesn't support the camera on a table top, but it does hold it when wrapped around something sturdy. Anyone looking for an easy camera to use to help take more difficult shots that your smaller point and clicks can't handle, this is a great purchase.

Kodak - Battery 4 x AA NiMH Review

(More customer reviews)The Kodak Pre-Charged AA NiMH belongs to the latest generation of low-self-discharge NiMH cells. It may not be as well-known as other brands (SANYO eneloop, Rayovac Hybrid, Duracell Pre Charged) but it is just as good according to my own testing:
1. The battery capacity is specified as 2100mAh. But the average capacity I have measured (using my La Crosse BC-900) is actually closer to 2200mAh!
2. After three months in storage, the capacity lost is only around 10%. This is even better than the results I got from eneloop and Hybrid (both close to 15%). Note that the difference could be due to measurement error and different ambient temperature, since those cells were not tested during the same period.
I have used more than a dozen of those Kodak Pre-Charged AA cells in digital camera (Canon S5), external flash (Canon 420EX), plus various toys and gadgets with great satisfaction. This Kodak 4-pack is an excellent buy, especially since it can be found at lower prices than other brands of pre-charged cells. If you are also looking for a fast and compact travel charger, then I highly recommend buying it with the KODAK K6200.
However, there are a few caveats when buying or using those Kodak Pre-Charged cells:
1. Make sure those cells are in WHITE cases. Avoid other Kodak rechargeable cells that come in green or grey cases, as those are not "Pre-Charged".
2. Those cells are slightly fatter than ordinary alkaline cells. Most appliances have no problem accepting them, except for my Microsoft wireless keyboard which has a very tight battery compartment. In this particular case, I have to use Hybrid AA cells since they are slimmer than others.
3. Many vendors here offer this product at a low price, but then charge you ridiculous amount in shipping and handling. If possible, wait for it to be available directly from Amazon, and order it with free "super-saver" delivery.
[Update on Nov 28, 2010]
I have confirmed that 'Kodak Pre-Charged' cells are in fact rebranded GP ReCyko+ Pre-Charged Batteries. The latter can now be found at about 50% lower cost!

I am very satisfied with this battery - it lasts for a long time and it's sold for a very reasonable price.
The battery supplied with the DX7440 is a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery with a capacity of 1050 mAh, and I think it's always good to have an extra battery just in case.

(More customer reviews)These accessories were recommended specifically to go with a Kodak digital camera I recently bought. Extremely useful were the tripods and the cleaning kits. However, the most important items in the pack were the rechargeable batteries and the charger. I was disappointed to realize that you can use the batteries for an extremely short time (they are AA)before they wear out (we're talking 20 minutes, even if you're only taking a few photos; forget about videos). What I needed and eventually bought for around 30 dollars was a Kodak rechargeable digital battery and charger. Thus, I felt misled by the placement of the product as compatible with the camera I bought, especially when I later saw that another pack did have the correct battery.

HENCE, THE REASON FOR A BACKUP. SO FAR I WAS SMART IN DOING SO. I DON'T GET AS MUCH LIFE OUT OF A CHARGE AS WITH MY OLD KODAK BUT I FEEL I STILL GET MORE THAN AA BATTERIES IN A CAMERA. I ALSO ORDERED A CHARGER YOU CAN PLUG INTO A CAR OR BOAT. SO FAR SO GOOD.

It accepts a maximum of 4AA's or 2AAA's. A separate power cord that plugs into the side of the charger is provided, unlike the usual alternatives - either ungainly flip plugs on the back of the charger, or prongs that stick out an inch from the back of the charger - that are common in chargers of this size. The whole ensemble, including batteries, fits nicely into the accessory pocket of a large digital camera pouch with at least 2 inches (thickness) of space for accessories.
